This gives me hope too. My hair is matted to a permanent bun because of a serious depression period last spring. I have gotten third of it open and can wash it regularily. My hair is waist long and I really hope I can save it. It ended up like this because I didn't comb it for a month.
I'm guessing by some of these comments that you people have never had to deal with depression thank you to the hair stylist for making this young lady feel good about herself
Oh my!! Awesome work!!And to the young girl, you are beautiful!! That you got out of bed, and went to a hairsylite had to be incredibly brave of you!!You are going back to school and are very brave. Please, please, reach out to a school counselor to help with your depression. Or a trusted family member. Things can be better!! I promise!!Reach out honey! Help is out there!!You are doing great!!
Wassup with all the Negative Comments?! 😬She did an Amazing makeover. That took a Lot of conditioning to soften the mattes and have a smooth cut. Patience for her and the young lady. I hope the girl can get help with her depression. 🌹💖💖
I trained as a beautician back in the late 60's. Had a lady come in with a beehive. Not unusual in that day. I slowly started to brush it out so I could wash it and the closer I got to the scalp, the more of a back-combed mess it became. It got orange as I got closer to the scalp (it was bleach blond on the outer layer). It took about two hours just to get to the point that it could be washed. I always wondered how long it had been that way but never dared to ask. I was just a kid in school learning a skill during the summers between regular school. I don't know if back-combing is still as popular as it once was but have to hope the more natural style this young girl wound up with is more prevalent today. It certainly looks nice on her and I hope it helps her self-confidence.
What a wonderful stylist. She really did an amazing job. And to the young lady, carry on with school and know that there are people who care for you. You are awesome
Beautiful girl. Where are her parents or support persons that were fixing dinner for this child? Why did it last for 2 years before a sweet hairdresser helped this child?Hopefully she is getting therapy now in some way.
Teen dealing with depression...just wondering about her home support system. She obviously needs some assistance. Stylist did a great job beyond her hair; this was a loss of revenue for her.
If it were only this easy to "cure" depression. A hair style is a wonderful lift for her but she also needs medical care and quickly. Depression can be caused by a lot of things and it isn't "made up" or "all in one's head"
A guy at my church is a barber and gives free haircuts to homeless people two evenings a month. He's not dealt with anything this bad but I've seen some of the people he's done. It's amazing how a haircut can make a total difference in life. Kudos to this stylist for going the distance.
